Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments and equipment are sterile and functional.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies.
- Monitor patient vital signs and maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery.
- Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts to ensure patient safety and accurate documentation.
- Properly clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room and recovery area.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required.
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
