Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Verify patient identities and accurately label specimens to prevent mix-ups.
- Explain procedures clearly to alleviate patient anxiety and ensure cooperation.
- Manage patient records and maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and laboratory safety protocols.
- Assist with daily laboratory operations, including specimen processing and transport.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure timely and accurate test results.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT, ASPT, NHA, or equivalent) is required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
- Strong attention to detail and high standard of accuracy.
