Responsibilities
- Prepare Surgical Environment: Set up operating rooms with all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies to ensure patient safety and surgical efficiency.
- Assist Surgeons: Provide hands-on assistance to surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sutures with speed and accuracy.
- Aseptic Technique: Maintain strict sterile field protocols and adhere to infection control standards at all times.
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for surgery, including draping and positioning, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock surgical supplies and equipment to prevent delays during procedures.
- Specimen Handling: Properly label, transport, and handle tissue specimens for laboratory analysis.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of recent experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Licensure: Active BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to focus on detail in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the healthcare team.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
