Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive telephone and in-person patient assessments to determine acuity and prioritize care needs
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop appropriate care plans
- Utilize Epic EMR systems to document assessments, orders, and patient interactions
- Provide clear, empathetic communication to patients regarding symptoms, next steps, and resources
- Manage patient flow through triage protocols while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage processes
- Handle emergency situations following ACLS/PALS protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Wisconsin (WI RN)
- Minimum 3 years ER or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficient in Epic EMR or comparable EHR systems
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills with diverse populations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
