Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using advanced triage protocols and diagnostic equipment
- Accurately prioritize patients based on acuity levels using EHR systems
- Collaborate with physicians to develop immediate treatment plans
- Provide critical care interventions including IV therapy, medication administration, and wound management
- Maintain precise documentation in electronic health records
- Educate patients and families on emergency procedures and follow-up care
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in District of Columbia
- Minimum 3 years emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Expertise in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills in high-pressure situations
- Ability to operate diagnostic equipment (EKG, pulse oximeters, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (MSN preferred)
