Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments to determine acuity levels and prioritize care in emergency settings
- Utilize EHR systems to document patient histories, symptoms, and vital signs accurately
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop effective care plans
- Provide clear communication to patients and families regarding wait times and treatment protocols
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital emergency protocols
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage processes
- Assist in crisis management during high-volume patient influx scenarios
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Indiana with minimum 2 years emergency department experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC preferred
- Proven ability to make critical decisions under pressure with excellent judgment
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated empathy in high-stress situations
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic/Cerner experience a plus)
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
