Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments via phone, secure messaging, or in-person triage to evaluate symptoms and determine medical urgency.
- Apply clinical reasoning and protocols to prioritize patient care and recommend appropriate treatment plans or referrals.
- Coordinate the scheduling of specialist appointments, diagnostic testing, and follow-up care for patients.
- Document all clinical findings, patient interactions, and triage decisions accurately and securely within the EMR system.
- Provide clear health education to patients regarding medication management, self-care, and warning signs of medical emergencies.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, charge nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Manage high call volumes efficiently while maintaining a calm and empathetic demeanor under pressure.
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of Florida.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Emergency Department (ED) or Urgent Care triage is highly preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to de-escalate patient concerns effectively.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and computer applications.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments.
