Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough medical histories and symptom assessments for patients contacting the nursing line.
- Determine the urgency of patient needs and provide appropriate medical advice or facilitate immediate care when necessary.
- Document all triage interactions accurately and legibly within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and care coordinators to ensure seamless patient transitions.
- Follow up with patients post-interaction to monitor recovery progress and medication adherence.
- Identify potential red flags in patient data and escalate critical cases immediately.
- Educate patients on preventative care and wellness strategies to reduce readmission rates.
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida (FL).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience (Acute Care or Triage experience preferred).
- Certification in Triage, CEN, or CCRN is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Exceptional verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
