Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize ER arrivals using ESI protocols
- Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate treatment pathways
- Document clinical observations accurately in Epic EHR systems
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to patients/families
- Maintain triage logs and compliance with CMS/JCAHO standards
- Train incoming staff on departmental triage procedures
Qualifications
- Active CA RN license (required)
- Minimum 3 years ER/trauma experience
- ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications (current)
- Expertise in ESI triage scale implementation
- Spanish bilingual proficiency preferred
- Proven ability to manage high-acuity cases
- EMR/EHR proficiency with Epic systems
