Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive phone and digital symptom assessments for patients to determine appropriate medical care pathways.
- Utilize clinical decision-making protocols to triage patients effectively, distinguishing between self-care, urgent care, and emergency room visits.
- Document patient interactions and clinical findings accurately and securely within the EMR system.
- Educate patients on preventative care, medication management, and wellness strategies.
- Evaluate and prioritize incoming calls to ensure critical cases are addressed immediately.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to resolve complex patient queries and cases.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance triage protocols and patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Arizona.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in triage, urgent care, or a clinical call center setting.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; RNC (Registered Nurse Case Manager) preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly and empathetically.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and computer systems.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, sound clinical judgments.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
