Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive initial patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity levels.
- Utilize evidence-based triage protocols to determine appropriate level of care and disposition.
- Document patient interactions, vitals, and triage assessments accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and ancillary staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide clear and empathetic health education and guidance to patients and families.
- Manage high-volume call volumes with speed and accuracy while maintaining a calm demeanor.
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Minnesota.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of recent clinical experience in a triage or emergency department setting.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required; CEN preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make critical decisions quickly.
