Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient assessments to determine acuity levels and medical priorities.
- Take and record accurate vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiratory rate).
- Collect and document patient medical history and chief complaints.
- Communicate triage findings and patient status to physicians and charge nurses.
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding follow-up care and home remedies.
- Maintain the triage room and equipment to ensure a sterile environment.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee.
- CPR and BLS certification (ACLS preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure in a high-volume setting.
- Basic computer proficiency for electronic health record (EHR) entry.
- Nursing degree (ADN or BSN) from an accredited institution.
