Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments via phone or in-person to accurately determine the acuity of medical conditions.
- Provide expert medical advice, symptom analysis, and triage instructions to patients and families.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and the wider care team to develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and instructions accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Manage high call volumes while maintaining a calm, professional, and empathetic demeanor.
- Identify potential health crises and facilitate rapid referrals to the appropriate departments.
- Stay current with clinical protocols and best practices in emergency medicine and triage.
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (CA RN License required).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience, with specific experience in triage or emergency care preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and symptom analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient education.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick, accurate clinical decisions.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems.
