Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and medical histories to determine urgency of care
- Provide telephone triage for patients seeking medical advice
- Coordinate with physicians and specialists for patient referrals
- Document patient encounters accurately in EHR systems
- Train staff on triage protocols and emergency procedures
- Monitor patient flow and department efficiency metrics
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current North Carolina RN license (required)
- Minimum 3 years ER/urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Experience with Epic or EHR systems
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
- BSN degree preferred (ADN accepted with experience)
