Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with history taking, vitals, and initial assessments.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and EKGs as directed by the provider.
- Administer medications and injections under the supervision of a licensed nurse or physician.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and charts.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans and next steps.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification as a CMA, RMA, or NCMA preferred (or willing to obtain).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinical setting.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
