Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance payers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial)
- Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and coverage details
- Resolve claim denials and underpayments through appeals and follow-up
- Post payments and adjustments in EHR/RCM systems (Epic/Cerner experience preferred)
- Conduct regular account reconciliations and AR aging analysis
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and documentation standards
- Collaborate with clinical teams for accurate coding support
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a US healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Proficiency in medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
- Expert knowledge of insurance claim processes and CMS regulations
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with RCM software
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills for patient/provider interactions
