Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures following strict safety protocols
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing
- Maintain sterile equipment and specimen handling integrity
- Verify patient identification and prepare samples for transport
- Document procedures in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure efficient patient flow
- Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA compliance standards
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a medical/lab setting
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Nevada state phlebotomy license (or ability to obtain immediately)
