Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures including examinations, treatments, and minor surgeries
- Perform vital signs measurement, EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection
- Manage patient records using electronic health systems with HIPAA compliance
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain inventory of medical supplies
- Provide patient education on medications, procedures, and preventive care
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure seamless communication between departments
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required
- Minimum 2 years of hospital-based medical assisting experience
- Current CPR/BLS certification from recognized provider
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of clinical procedures and medical terminology
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work in fast-paced environment
- North Carolina medical assistant license in good standing
