Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, obtain vital signs, and document medical history accurately.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure infection control standards are met.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks, including phlebotomy, EKGs, and point-of-care testing.
- Manage patient scheduling, appointment reminders, and insurance verification.
- Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming environment for all patients and visitors.
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- CPR and BLS certification (or willingness to obtain) is mandatory.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to strict safety protocols.
