Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control and ordering of pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and maintain accurate patient records
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software
- Assist with sterile compounding and medication packaging
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician license in Massachusetts (required)
- Prior hospital or retail pharmacy experience (1+ years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy terminology and medication safety protocols
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment
- Certification through PTCB or ExCPT (highly preferred)
- Basic understanding of HIPAA and pharmacy compliance standards
