Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and restocking pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and maintain precise medication records per HIPAA guidelines
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software (Omni preferred)
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care coordination
- Maintain compliance with Virginia Board of Pharmacy regulations
Qualifications
- Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license (required)
- PTCB certification or equivalent (preferred)
- Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications and pharmaceutical terminology
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and inventory software
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
