Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescriptions using advanced pharmacy technology
- Manage inventory control and medication ordering systems
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Collaborate with pharmacists on clinical services and health screenings
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict patient confidentiality protocols
- Process insurance claims and third-party billing efficiently
- Support pharmacy operations in sterile compounding and IV admixture
Qualifications
- Active NY State Pharmacy Technician license (required)
- 1+ years retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Strong customer service skills with empathy for diverse patient needs
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding procedures
