Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by assembling sterile equipment and verifying instrument functionality
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments pre/post-surgery to ensure patient safety
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms while monitoring vital signs
- Process and sterilize surgical equipment following OSHA and AORN guidelines
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and surgical instruments
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of scrub experience in general or specialty surgery
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Knowledge of sterile processing techniques and aseptic protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency with surgical equipment and instrumentation
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations
