Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration) accurately.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Report any changes in patient condition or behavior to the Registered Nurse immediately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for all patients.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs.
- Document patient care activities and shift reports in the electronic health record (EHR).
Qualifications
- Current and active Louisiana State CNA license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move patients weighing up to 250 lbs.
- Compassionate, patient-centered attitude with a focus on quality care.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
