Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration) accurately.
  • Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
  • Report any changes in patient condition or behavior to the Registered Nurse immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for all patients.
  • Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs.
  • Document patient care activities and shift reports in the electronic health record (EHR).

Qualifications

  • Current and active Louisiana State CNA license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and move patients weighing up to 250 lbs.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered attitude with a focus on quality care.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
