Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Prepare and serve meals to patients according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary patient environment.
- Document patient care activities and incidents accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Current, active State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be maintained.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting preferred.
- Strong empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Compliance with HIPAA and company privacy policies.
