Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Prepare and process blood samples for laboratory analysis accurately and in a timely manner.
- Interact professionally with patients of all ages, explaining procedures and alleviating anxiety.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols for infection control.
- Manage and inventory phlebotomy supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness for daily operations.
- Document patient information and specimen labels with high accuracy.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (e.g., ASCP, CPT) or completion of an accredited training program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in clinical phlebotomy preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs when necessary.
