Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring dignity and comfort.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Assistance with Mobility: Help patients move safely between beds, wheelchairs, or walkers, utilizing proper lifting techniques.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and patient charts as directed by nursing staff.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers to report changes in condition.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict hygiene protocols and safety standards to prevent the spread of infection.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid and current state Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting is preferred but not always required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients, and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on empathy and clarity.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Availability: Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
