Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications to patients and healthcare providers.
- Verify physician orders, check for drug interactions, and perform dosage calculations.
- Assist pharmacists in the compounding of sterile and non-sterile products.
- Manage inventory levels, conduct stock counts, and process orders for pharmaceutical supplies.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient inquiries regarding prescriptions and medications.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and DEA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligibility to become certified (ExCPT or PTCB).
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform high-volume tasks under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is highly desired.
