Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately using automated dispensing systems and robotic packaging technology
- Verify prescriptions and compound sterile/non-sterile preparations under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and auditing controlled substances
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on pharmacy protocols and safety procedures
- Operate automated dispensing equipment and maintain electronic health records
- Collaborate with nursing staff to resolve medication discrepancies and ensure timely delivery
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years hospital pharmacy experience with IV compounding
- Proficiency in pharmacy automation systems (e.g., Omnicell, Pyxis)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding USP 797 standards
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Basic computer skills with familiarity with EMR systems (Epic preferred)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
