Responsibilities
- Patient Preparation: Greet patients, verify insurance, and prepare them for examinations by taking vital signs and medical history.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and minor medical treatments as directed.
- Lab Services: Perform venipuncture, EKGs, and basic lab tests accurately and efficiently.
- Administrative Duties: Update and maintain patient medical records, file charts, and manage appointment schedules.
- Medication Management: Prepare and administer medications under the direct supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner.
- Communication: Educate patients on medications, diets, and post-procedure care instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and computer literacy.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends as needed.
