Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and submit medical claims to insurance payers (Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare).
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to rendering services.
- Manage patient accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding balances, and send statements.
- Review and resolve denied or rejected claims to maximize revenue capture.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Communicate effectively with patients and insurance representatives regarding billing inquiries.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle management.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Proficiency with medical billing software and EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Healthcare Administration or Medical Coding preferred.
