Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10 and CPT guidelines.
- Submit and follow up on medical claims to insurance payers electronically (Claim scrubbing).
- Investigate and resolve denied or rejected claims to maximize revenue collection.
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information in the billing system.
- Generate and analyze monthly billing reports and financial statements.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal auditing standards.
- Collaborate with physicians and office staff to clarify coding and billing queries.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CPC, CPC-H, CBCS, or RHIT (Preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in medical billing, coding, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficient in EHR systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, or Cerner.
- Strong working knowledge of insurance verification and claims denial management.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
