Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough phone and virtual assessments to determine the urgency of patient symptoms.
- Apply critical thinking skills to differentiate between urgent, emergent, and non-urgent medical conditions.
- Provide accurate medical advice and recommend appropriate next steps, including scheduling appointments or directing patients to the ER.
- Document patient interactions and clinical findings accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Manage high call volumes efficiently while maintaining a professional and empathetic demeanor.
Qualifications
- Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with specific preference for triage or call center experience.
- Certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing (CMSN) or Telehealth Nursing (CNL) is highly preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Strong computer proficiency with experience in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
