Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough physical and psychosocial assessments to formulate accurate nursing diagnoses and individualized care plans.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments, strictly adhering to hospital protocols and the 6 Rights of Medication Administration.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient progress, vital signs, and response to interventions, promptly reporting any changes to the healthcare provider.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other team members to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment options, and post-discharge care instructions to promote recovery.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred for critical care units.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred; new graduates are considered with relevant clinical rotations.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient advocacy.
