Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and triage decisions based on medical acuity and urgency.
- Evaluate incoming phone calls and walk-in patients to determine appropriate level of care.
- Document patient interactions, medical histories, and triage findings accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the wider care team to coordinate patient care plans.
- Provide clear, empathetic patient education and discharge instructions.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, HIPAA regulations, and quality assurance standards.
- Manage a high volume of inquiries while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
Qualifications
- Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or triage nursing.
- Certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.
- Strong computer proficiency with experience in electronic medical record systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to make quick, critical decisions in high-stress situations.
